Maurizio Sarri has admitted midfielder Danny Drinkwater is not best suited to his new style of football at Chelsea and may have to leave the club.
Drinkwater hasn’t played a single minute of Premier League football this season, and he only managed 520 in his debut Chelsea campaign last year under
Antonio Conte .
Now, Sarri has addressed the issue and stated the Englishman doesn’t suit his preferred formation at the Blues.

‘Danny is in the list for the Premier League but not for Europe,’ Sarri said. ‘He’s a very good midfielder but he’s suitable for a midfield with two central midfielders.
‘In a three he’s not suitable to play centre-right or centre-left, so his problem is my football.’
Drinkwater signed for Chelsea from Leicester City back in September 2017 for £35 million and has struggled to make an impact under two different managers.

A Stockport Magistrates’ Court in England, on Monday, banned Chelsea star, Danny Drinkwater, from driving for 20 months, Mirror UK reports.
The Judge, Mark Hadfield also ordered that Drinkwater should be given 70 hours community service after the midfielder pleaded guilty to drink driving.
Confirming the incident to reporters, Cheshire Police said: “A 29-year-old man from Nether Alderley was arrested on suspicion of drink driving. He is currently in custody assisting officers with their inquiries.”
Drinkwater crashed his Range Rover into a Skoda car at approximately 12.30am, hours before Chelsea’s Premier League 2-0 victory over West Ham United at Stamford Bridge.
The player and solicitor, Beth Mantel had attended a charity event in an upmarket bar called Victors in Hale, Greater Manchester, approximately six miles away from his house.
The crash left debris scattered across the country road while a fence was also flattened.
Drinkwater joined Chelsea in a £35million deal last summer from Leicester City.
The England star has fallen out of favour at Chelsea since manager, Maurizio Sarri, took over from fellow Italian, Antonio Conte.
